WHAT ARE APPRENTICESHIPS?

Gi Group have been delivering quality Apprenticeship programmes for over 10 years. We are on the Register of Apprenticeship Training Providers (RoATP) and are graded as ‘Good’ by Ofsted. Our experienced Apprenticeship team deliver Apprenticeship programmes up and down the country. Through our Apprenticeship Programmes we will help you develop the future skills your business and employees need to thrive.

WHAT ARE APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAMMES?

Apprenticeships are employer and government creation led work-based programmes, designed for industry-specific roles. They are available for people aged 16 and over; there is no restriction on the upper age limit, as long as the person enrolled is employed in an actual job. The apprentice may be an existing employee that requires further training, or a new hire: they should be employed within a suitable job role for a minimum of 30 hours per week and must spend at least 20% of their contracted working hours on off-the-job training. Apprenticeships incorporate qualifications from Level 2 (GCSE equivalent) to Level 7 (Masters equivalent)

WHY CONSIDER AN APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAMME?

The advantages of running an Apprenticeship programme are significant for employers:

If you are a levy paying organisation, you can use the funds in your account to pay for apprenticeship programmes and assessment (up to a funding band maximum), allowing you to develop and train your workforce. If you are a non-levy paying employer, you can share the cost of apprenticeship training with the government.
Apprenticeship programmes allow you to develop the workforce you need tomorrow, today, plugging any skills gap and helping you to future proof your business.
Upskilling and developing the skills of your employees helps to drive engagement, improves motivation and enhances performance. By investing in their development, employees feel valued and have a clearer understanding of how they can develop their careers within your business, reducing their need to look externally.
Apprenticeship programmes allow you to develop a pipeline of talent with the relevant skills and knowledge of your business. Internal talent mobility is improved, reducing the need to hire externally.
How businesses support the development of their employees is highly important to candidates. Offering apprenticeship programmes demonstrates your commitment to investing in the development of your employees’ futures, making you an employer of choice and allow you to attract the best candidates.
