Employment Legislation
Contact usWhat is Employment Legislation?
Employment legislation is the body of law that governs the relationship between employers, workers, and job applicants.
It is designed to protect individuals in the workplace, promote fair treatment, and help organisations meet their legal responsibilities.
We have experienced many changes in employment legislation, and one of our key roles is to protect candidates from discrimination while also protecting clients from any potentially discriminatory acts and legislative risks to their business.
All of our staff are comprehensively trained in the main legislative Acts, including those relating to sex, age, race, disability discrimination, the right to work in the UK, the Working Time Regulations, and the Agency Workers Regulations.
We have been approved under the Gangmasters Licensing Act and, in addition to being members of the Recruitment and Employment Confederation, we are also members of the Association of Labour Providers.
Drivers Legislation
Gi Group UK was the first agency to be audited and approved by the Freight Transport Association (FTA), following a thorough review of the company’s compliance management systems.
Providing a low risk service through working closely with both our clients and drivers is a high priority for us, and the protection of Operator and Driver Licences through legislative compliance is reflected in our processes.
All of our staff working within the logistics market are comprehensively trained in the Road Transport (Working Time) Regulations and EU Drivers’ Hours Rules, and are working towards or have obtained an FTA Certificate of Professional Competence in Recruitment Practice. Many of our operational staff are FTA approved Digital Tachograph trainers.
We have a dedicated Quality & Safety team committed to ensuring high standards of service and compliance. Quarterly site audits are carried out.
Policies and Procedures
Our policies set out the standards, principles, and procedures that guide how we operate across the business.
Together, they reflect our commitment to compliance, consistency, and responsible working practices across all areas of our organisation.
