Environmental Test Technician
Location: Fareham
Hours: 8:30am - 5:00pm, Monday to Friday
Employment Type: Full‑time, Permanent

A leading engineering and testing organisation is seeking an Environmental Test Technician to join their specialist laboratory team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with laboratory experience who enjoys hands‑on technical work, problem‑solving, and working closely with customers across a wide range of industry sectors.
You will support the delivery of comprehensive environmental testing services, including temperature, humidity, pressure and ingress protection testing. The role involves conducting tests to defined standards, recording results, producing reports, and contributing to continuous improvement activities within the department.
This position suits someone who is methodical, organised, technically minded, and confident working both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct environmental tests (temperature, humidity, pressure, IP) to relevant standards and test plans
- Work closely with customers during attended testing sessions
- Record test results using electronic logbook systems and produce accurate test reports
- Liaise with customers regarding test specifications, procedures and results interpretation
- Coordinate with the Test Manager to ensure work is completed accurately and on schedule
- Support the development and refinement of test plans and departmental documentation
- Assist with continuous improvement activities to enhance testing efficiency and quality
Essential Requirements
- Experience working in a laboratory environment
- Strong numerical, logical and analytical skills
- Good IT capability (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication skills and a customer‑focused approach
Highly Desirable
- Experience delivering climatic or environmental testing
- Previous experience in a test house environment
- Knowledge of laboratory quality procedures
- Technical qualification in a STEM subject
