Forklift Driver & Machine Operative

Hours: Rotating shifts (6am–2pm / 2pm–10pm)

Days: Monday–Friday

Pay: £13.35 per hour

Location: Fishponds, Bristol

Gi Group are seeking an experienced Forklift Driver and Machine Operative to join our well‑established manufacturing client based in Fishponds, Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with forklift experience or production/machine operation backgrounds looking for a long‑term role with consistent hours.

Key Responsibilities

As a Forklift Driver and Machine Operative, you will be responsible for:

• Operating forklifts safely and efficiently (valid licence preferred).
• Checking all materials and machine settings are correct for each job.
• Ensuring high-quality standards on WIP rolls and finished rolls.
• Following all site Health & Safety procedures at all times.
• Running any rewinder machine during staff breaks, holidays, or sickness cover.
• Working as a linesman or assisting with box making as required.
• Cleaning machinery and setting up materials for production runs.
• Completing ad hoc duties to support the wider production team.

Skills & Experience Required

Essential

• General education and ability to follow written instructions.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Reliable team player with a proactive approach.
• Computer literate and confident with basic systems.

Preferred

• Experience operating production or manufacturing machinery.
• Current Counterbalance Forklift licence.
• Previous warehouse or factory experience.
