Production Forklift Operator - Counterbalance
As a Production Forklift Operator, you will be trained to support the Team Captain while the production line is running. The role can be repetitive and includes stacking boxes onto pallets, supporting packing activities on the line, and operating a forklift to transport raw materials, packaging, and finished goods across site. You will also wrap pallets, use the stock control system, and maintain a clean and safe working environment-particularly during product changeovers and line downtime.
Working Pattern
Monday to Thursday - 2:30pm - 1:30am
Pay
£13.25ph
Key Responsibilities
- Take full accountability for quality, output, and housekeeping within your working area during your shift.
- Work safely and effectively at all times to help minimise incidents and near misses.
- Record and correctly cover any unused product to reduce risk of contamination.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and follow a "clean as you go" approach.
- Report equipment issues, damage, or faults immediately to the Team Captain.
- Ensure correct PPE is worn at all times.
- Use safe manual handling techniques when working on and around production lines.
- Collect required packaging materials (e.g., boxes, film, labels) and deliver them to the relevant production line.
- Supply production lines with raw materials as required.
- Plan ahead by preparing materials/products close to the line for upcoming production runs.
- Wrap finished goods on the production lines in line with site standards.
Qualifications & Experience
- Valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence (essential)
- Proven experience operating a forklift in a warehouse or production environment
Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of forklift and production safety procedures
- Ability to read and follow safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
- High attention to detail and accuracy when handling materials
- Physical stamina for repetitive tasks and manual work
- Strong communication, time management, and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to high quality standards
