Maintenance Engineer (Multi‑Skilled)
Location: Royal Leamington Spa
Salary: £42,000-£47,000 + excellent benefits
Hours: 7:00-16:00 Mon-Thu, 7:00-12:00 Fri (flexible start/finish times)
About the Role
A leading hydraulic‑systems manufacturer is seeking a Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer to support production operations and maximise equipment uptime across multiple value streams. This is a hands‑on role involving planned maintenance, reactive fault‑finding, small facilities tasks, and supporting installation projects.
There is a clear development pathway into Maintenance Manager for engineers who demonstrate strong capability and leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver planned and reactive maintenance in line with IATF16949 requirements.
- Fault‑find on hydraulic/pneumatic test rigs, circuits, and electrical control systems (3‑phase, motors, pumps).
- Manage contractors and issue work permits.
- Support 8D and RCPS problem‑solving to reduce downtime and prevent repeat failures.
- Assist with installation and commissioning of new equipment.
- Use and improve Maximo (CMMS) for maintenance planning and inventory control.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, GMP, and customer‑specific quality requirements.
- Carry out small‑scale facilities repairs, refurbishments, and installations when required.
- Maintain and support external certifications and audits.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong background in mechanical and electrical maintenance.
- Ability to fault‑find across hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and work independently.
- Electrical qualification required.
Desirable Skills
- PLC interrogation and fault‑finding.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver them on time.
- Understanding of strategic planning and continuous improvement.
Hours & Overtime
- Standard hours: Mon-Thu 7:00-16:00, Fri 7:00-12:00
- Flexible start/finish times available
- Overtime after probation:
- x1.5 weekdays & Saturdays (after 40 hours)
- x2 Sundays
