Overview

We're recruiting UK-based freelance Telephone Interpreters who are fluent in English + another language to provide remote telephone interpreting via a dedicated app. You'll support clients across a range of sectors including NHS and Public Sector services, helping customers with limited English proficiency access vital support.

What you'll do

• Provide real-time, two-way telephone interpreting (English ↔ second language)
• Answer interpreting requests via an app and interpret live conversations over audio calls
• Deliver accurate, complete interpretation while maintaining a professional tone
• Follow confidentiality, safeguarding, and data protection expectations (role requires DBS)

What we're looking for

• Professional spoken interpreting experience (essential)
• Fluent English + a second language (native/near-native)
• Based in the UK and eligible to work self-employed/freelance
• Strong understanding of cultural context and terminology
• Community Interpreting Level 3+ desirable (not essential)
• Enhanced DBS with child barring check: must hold or be willing to obtain
