Job Title: Automotive Technical Trainer
Location: Nottingham, NG11 6JZ
Salary: Negotiable
Hours: Monday to Friday. 08:30 - 17:00. Hybrid (3/4 days on site)
GI Group are looking for an experienced Automotive Technical Trainer to deliver face-to-face and virtual training to dealer technicians, service advisors and Aftersales teams.
You'll develop and improve training materials, assess training effectiveness, support the dealer network with technical guidance, and assist with new model launch training and LMS/e-learning delivery. Applicants should have previous OEM/automotive technical training experience, strong knowledge of modern vehicle systems (EV/hybrid/ADAS), and the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver face-to-face and virtual technical training to dealer technicians, service advisors and Aftersales teams.
- Create, update and localise training materials, assessments and practical workshop activities to brand/technical standards.
- Measure training effectiveness (feedback, assessments, performance metrics) and drive continuous improvement.
- Provide technical support to the dealer network and support new model launch training (needs analysis, course build, delivery planning).
- Maintain training equipment, vehicles, tooling and learning environments; support LMS/e-learning delivery.
- Ensure HSE compliance at all times and act as a professional brand ambassador.
- Contribute to Academy strategy and long-term training development as the network grows.
Requirements:
- Proven technical automotive training experience (OEM/importer/dealer group/supplier).
- Self-motivated and keen to help shape UK technical training.
- Strong knowledge of modern vehicle systems (electrical, hybrid/EV, ADAS, connected tech).
- Able to create/adapt training for classroom and digital delivery.
- Clear communicator, confident with groups and 1:1 coaching.
- Experienced with OEM diagnostics, service systems and technical documentation.
- Dealer workshop/technical support/Master Tech background preferred; new model launch exposure a plus.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment; LMS/accreditation/Academy experience desirable.
- International/Chinese brand experience advantageous; strong passion for automotive tech and development.
