Draughtsperson
Location: Nottingham
Salary: Up to £16.80ph (£35k)
Hours: Mon-Thu 07:30-16:30, Fri 07:30-13:30
Overtime: Time and a half after 40 hours
Start: ASAP
A well-established engineering and fabrication business is looking for a Draughtsperson to produce accurate fabrication and assembly drawings for structural steelwork components. This is a hands-on, workshop-facing role where you'll work closely with engineers, project teams and fabrication/welding teams to ensure designs are production-ready.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce detailed fabrication drawings for steel structures
- Create 3D & 2D models using Autodesk Advanced Steel
- Generate GA drawings, fabrication details, assembly drawings and material schedules
- Liaise with design engineers, project managers and workshop teams to deliver the design intent
- Interpret engineering calculations into production-ready drawings
- Ensure drawings meet internal standards and relevant industry requirements
- Revise/update drawings based on customer requirements and engineering change requests
- Provide technical support during manufacture and support continuous improvement initiatives
Essential Experience & Skills:
- Proven experience as a Draughtsperson or similar role within the fabrication industry
- Strong Autodesk Advanced Steel experience (essential)
- Experience producing drawings for welded structures and fabricated assemblies
- Good understanding of welding symbols, fabrication techniques and engineering drawings
- Able to interpret technical specifications and documentation
- Strong attention to detail, communication and problem-solving skills
