Job Title: Head of Faculty - Engineering

GI Group are seeking for an experienced and inspirational Head of Faculty - Engineering, to support the Assistant Principal in delivering a high-quality, responsive curriculum that meets local and regional skills priorities. This is a senior role with responsibility for curriculum planning, quality, performance, people leadership and stakeholder partnerships.

The Role

You'll help shape and deliver a comprehensive Engineering curriculum offer that responds to labour market demand and funding opportunities and ensures an outstanding learner journey from enrolment through to achievement and positive destinations. You will lead operational performance across the Engineering provision, driving improvements in attendance, retention, pass rates and achievement while ensuring delivery is efficient, safe and compliant.

Key responsibilities:

· Support the Assistant Principal to develop and deliver an Engineering curriculum aligned to employer needs, skills priorities and funding opportunities (including new initiatives)

· Lead the quality of teaching, learning and assessment, ensuring strong outcomes and awarding body compliance

· Deliver the annual Engineering curriculum plan (student numbers, outcomes and budgets), ensuring efficient use of staffing, facilities/workshops, group sizes, GLH and room utilisation

· Use performance data to drive continuous improvement, taking timely action to improve attendance, retention and achievement

· Line manage and develop staff, ensuring appropriate deployment, support, performance management and professional development

· Ensure learning is inclusive, individualised and ambitious, providing stretch and challenge from learners' starting points

· Maintain strong relationships with employers, sector bodies, schools and the community, acting as an ambassador and building effective partnerships

· Ensure Engineering delivery environments are safe, welcoming and current, taking operational accountability for workshops and teaching areas

· Champion Safeguarding, Prevent, EDI, Health & Safety and wellbeing; act as a First Response Officer for safeguarding/Prevent concerns where required

· Participate in mandatory training and the Professional Development and Review (PDR) scheme

· Provide teaching cover/training delivery as required and oversee commercial activity where relevant to the Engineering area.

What We're Looking For

· Proven leadership experience within Engineering education, training or an FE setting

· Strong track record of improving learner outcomes using quality and performance data

· Experience of curriculum planning, resource/budget management and operational delivery

· Ability to inspire, develop and hold teams to account

· Strong understanding of employer engagement and workforce needs within Engineering

· Clear commitment to Safeguarding, EDI, Health & Safety and a positive learner experience
