Shunter at Preston, Lancashire

HGV Class 1 Shunter Driver (Ongoing) - Immediate Start

Location: Preston (PR2)

Pay Rate: £21.38 per hour (PAYE)*

Overtime Rate: £27.26 per hour after 40 hours

Shift Time: 00:00 - 09:00

Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday

*Please note: PAYE rates include advanced holiday pay.

Gi Group are currently recruiting an experienced HGV Class 1 Shunter Driver to work on-site with one of our well-known parcel delivery clients based in Preston (PR2)

Duties for Class 1 Shunter will include:

• Shunting trailers between the main site and off-site parking locations
• Completing a small number of customer collections as required
• Conducting vehicle pre-checks and reporting any defects/maintenance issues
• Ensuring safe, timely movement of trailers in line with site rules and schedules
• Complying with transport regulations and company policies

Driver Requirements

To be considered, you must have:

• Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence
• Previous shunting experience (essential)
• Driving experience in a similar role (preferred)
• Strong attention to detail and a safety-first approach
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
