Job Title: Site Facilities & Safety Coordinator (Permanent)

Location: Rugby

Hours: Monday to Friday, 39 hours per week

Reporting to: Health, Safety & Environmental (HS&E) Manager (with a functional reporting line to Engineering)

A permanent opportunity for a proactive Site Facilities & Safety Coordinator to ensure site facilities and safety systems of work are effectively maintained. You'll keep buildings and grounds safe, compliant and well managed, while supporting delivery of projects and repairs and driving environmental and waste performance.

This role is ideal for someone who combines a strong health & safety mindset with hands-on facilities oversight and the ability to coordinate contractors, compliance and improvement activity across a busy production/engineering site.

Key responsibilities:

Health & Safety

  • Lead site facilities regulatory compliance and ensure facilities meet EH&S requirements and legal standards
  • Own and maintain safe systems of work across relevant areas; support day-to-day conformance and timely close-out of non-conformances
  • Keep robust, audit-ready documentation for statutory and facility maintenance tasks
  • Support and deputise for the HS&E Manager when required
  • Manage contractor control, including onboarding and compliance

Facilities & Contractor Management

  • Ensure non-process site services and facilities are maintained to maximise availability and efficiency
  • Oversee contract maintenance of facilities, environmental and regulatory services to ensure legal compliance
  • Coordinate activity across multi-disciplinary teams (e.g. maintenance, grounds, security)

Projects & Continuous Improvement

  • Provide hands-on support to deliver capital projects, smaller local projects and day-to-day repairs up to £1m
  • Lead continuous improvement activity using Lean tools and structured site systems (e.g. AMPS)
  • Monitor energy efficiency and cost effectiveness, advising on practical improvements

Environmental, waste & reporting

  • Deliver action plans to achieve environmental and waste KPIs
  • Own environmental tracking/monitoring and waste stream reporting
  • Liaise with regulators and external agencies as required

Budget ownership

  • Coordinate and manage revenue budgets/cost control for facilities maintenance, environmental, waste and safety up to £1.2m

What we're looking for:

  • Proven experience in facilities management within a fast-paced production/engineering environment
  • Strong track record in legal compliance and contractor/project management
  • Working knowledge of ISO management systems (environment and safety)
  • Strong understanding of environmental regulations and best practice
  • Confident communicator able to work with regulators, colleagues and contractors at all levels
  • Organised, analytical, resilient and able to work independently
  • Hands-on general maintenance capability (able to manually resolve issues where appropriate)
  • IT literate (Microsoft packages; SAP desirable)

Qualifications (desirable):

  • Environmental Science and/or Health & Safety qualification
  • Project Management qualification
