Description - Strategic Workforce Planning & People Analytics Lead

Location: Salisbury, SP4 0JQ / Hybrid / 60% on site

Contract length: 6 months

GI Group are recruiting for an experienced Strategic Workforce Planning & People Analytics Lead for our public sector client.

To lead, shape and deliver workforce planning, modelling and insight. You'll develop supply/demand forecasts, run scenario planning, and provide evidence-based recommendations to senior stakeholders to support workforce prioritisation and investment decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and maintain the Strategic Workforce Plan (annual publication)
• Build workforce supply/demand models, forecasts and capability assessments
• Deliver scenario planning, workforce modelling and workforce risk analysis
• Translate strategic goals into operational workforce plans aligned to budgets/resources
• Produce dashboards, reports and workforce insight to support decision-making
• Improve workforce data quality, reporting standards and assurance
• Support implementation and embedding of a resource management operating model
• Set up and run governance forums/steering groups and related documentation

Essential skills/experience

• Significant experience leading strategic workforce planning in a complex organisation
• Strong people analytics capability (reporting, dashboards, trend analysis, insight)
• Confident influencing senior stakeholders and presenting clear recommendations
• Experience with workforce operating models/change/transformation and governance
• Advanced Excel (pivots, complex formulas; macros beneficial)
• Ability to work independently as a subject matter expert

• Power BI
• Experience in regulated environments (e.g., public sector/defence/national security)
