Description - Strategic Workforce Planning & People Analytics Lead
Location: Salisbury, SP4 0JQ / Hybrid / 60% on site
Contract length: 6 months
Rate: competitive

GI Group are recruiting for an experienced Strategic Workforce Planning & People Analytics Lead for our public sector client.
To lead, shape and deliver workforce planning, modelling and insight. You'll develop supply/demand forecasts, run scenario planning, and provide evidence-based recommendations to senior stakeholders to support workforce prioritisation and investment decisions.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and maintain the Strategic Workforce Plan (annual publication)
- Build workforce supply/demand models, forecasts and capability assessments
- Deliver scenario planning, workforce modelling and workforce risk analysis
- Translate strategic goals into operational workforce plans aligned to budgets/resources
- Produce dashboards, reports and workforce insight to support decision-making
- Improve workforce data quality, reporting standards and assurance
- Support implementation and embedding of a resource management operating model
- Set up and run governance forums/steering groups and related documentation
Essential skills/experience
- Significant experience leading strategic workforce planning in a complex organisation
- Strong people analytics capability (reporting, dashboards, trend analysis, insight)
- Confident influencing senior stakeholders and presenting clear recommendations
- Experience with workforce operating models/change/transformation and governance
- Advanced Excel (pivots, complex formulas; macros beneficial)
- Ability to work independently as a subject matter expert
Desirable
- Power BI
- Experience in regulated environments (e.g., public sector/defence/national security)
