Manufacturing Technician - Aerospace & Defence at Southampton, Hampshire

Join a leading Aerospace & Defence innovator in Southampton as an experienced Manufacturing Technician. You'll play a key role in producing high‑precision components used in cutting‑edge electro‑optic systems, working in a clean, modern, and highly controlled environment.

What You'll Be Doing

• Precision and micro‑assembly using hand tools, microscopes, and specialist fixtures
• Testing and inspection of electro‑optic and electronic components
• Handling small, delicate, and high‑tolerance parts with accuracy
• Following detailed work instructions, drawings, and quality standards
• Completing production documentation and reporting issues clearly
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant work area

What You'll Bring

• Previous manufacturing or assembly experience (essential)
• Excellent attention to detail and a strong quality mindset
• Confident manual dexterity and fine motor control
• Ability to follow technical instructions and procedures
• Computer literacy including Microsoft Office

Desirable Experience

• Aerospace, Defence, Electronics, Optics, or Semiconductor manufacturing
• Cleanroom or controlled‑environment work
• SAP ERP knowledge

Working Environment

• Modern Aerospace & Defence manufacturing facility
• Controlled‑temperature or cleanroom areas (role‑dependent)
• Repetitive fine‑motor tasks with periods of sitting or standing

Additional Information

Due to project requirements, this role is open to sole UK nationals only. Hours: 37 per week, Monday to Friday.
