Class 2 Refuse Driver at Stowmarket, Suffolk

The Role

We are seeking a reliable Class 2 HGV Driver to join our local household waste management team. You will drive a modern refuse collection vehicle (RCV) along designated domestic residential routes.

This is a hands-on, community-facing role. Unlike standard driving jobs, this is an active, teamwork-focused position where you must be willing to jump out of the cab and help the crew load bins when needed. It is the perfect job if you want to stay fit, work outdoors, and guarantee you are home for dinner every single evening.

Class 2 HGV Domestic Refuse Driver

• Location: Stowmarket (IP14)
• Salary: £16.59 per hour (£18.59 with advanced holiday)
• Job Type: Full-time
• Hours: 0530-1500, Monday to Friday (No nights, no weekends!)

Key Responsibilities

• Drive Safely: Navigate tight residential streets and cul-de-sacs with high caution.
• Muck In: Actively assist the loaders with pulling, hooking, and emptying wheelie bins.
• Vehicle Checks: Complete daily walk-around checks and report vehicle defects.
• Keep Control: Safely operate the hydraulic bin-lifting mechanisms.
• Maintain Compliance: Adhere strictly to tachograph rules and domestic health and safety guidelines.

What We Need From You

• Licence: Valid UK HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence (No more than 6 points)
• Credentials: Up-to-date CPC card and Digital Tachograph card.
• Team Attitude: Complete willingness to work hard outside the cab alongside your loading team.
• Fitness: High physical stamina to handle a demanding role in all weather conditions.
• Reliability: A punctual professional with a strong attendance record.
