Earlier this week, 18 Gi Group UK employees took time out of their busy schedules to deliver employability workshops to students at St Gregory the Great school in Oxford.
Running both a CV writing session and conducting mock interviews, Gi Group colleagues helped over 170 students develop their understanding of the job market. Taking them through CVs, the application process and discussing interview techniques, students gained a comprehensive understanding of employment and how to market themselves effectively when they eventually start their careers.
Feedback from students was extremely positive, with everyone agreeing that they felt better prepared to approach the job market. Speaking after the workshops, Gi Group’s Operations Manager, Sally Charlton commented “As a nationwide recruiter we are committed to supporting the next generation of employees develop the employability skills they will need to be successful. This starts with understanding what employers are looking for, discussing skills needed now and those in the future, and importantly, how to best position yourself for success.”
