About the Role
We are looking for a Surface Mount Technician to join our client in Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Leicestershire. This role involves setting up and operating SMT equipment, ensuring accurate component placement, and maintaining high-quality standards throughout the assembly process.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate SMT machines
- Load components and verify correct placement using AOI (Automated Optical Inspection).
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on SMT equipment.
- Inspect assembled PCBs for quality and accuracy.
- Work from technical drawings and work instructions.
- Collaborate with quality and engineering teams to resolve issues.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area in line with 5S principles.
Requirements
- Knowledge of SMT equipment operation and maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with IPC standards and AOI processes is a plus.
