Manufacturing Technician Birmingham B15 / Shifts: Monday to Friday,08:00 - 16:30 Contract Type: Full-Time Hourly Rate: £12.65 per hour 3 month contract.

We are recruiting on behalf of a respected client in the medical device industry who is seeking a dedicated Manufacturing Technician to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the production of high‑quality medical devices within a supportive and well‑structured environment.

Role Overview

As a Manufacturing Technician, you will play a key role in supporting the manufacturing and testing of medical devices. You'll be responsible for maintaining equipment, following established procedures, and ensuring all work meets strict quality and regulatory standards. Flexibility and teamwork are essential, as you may also support other areas to help the team meet production and delivery targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the manufacturing and testing of medical devices
  • Perform equipment maintenance and calibration
  • Complete all records, worksheets, and documentation accurately
  • Use the ERP system to track work and manage documents
  • Communicate progress and escalate issues promptly
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and support planning activities
  • Follow all health and safety procedures
  • Ensure all work complies with company standards and regulatory requirements

Education & Experience

Essential:

  • GCSEs in Maths, English, and Science
  • Experience working effectively within a team
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Strong communication and time‑management skills

Desirable:

  • Degree in a relevant subject
  • A Levels
  • Laboratory experience
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety and Quality Systems

Personal Qualities

Our client is looking for someone who is friendly, positive, punctual, organised, reliable, and self‑motivated. Flexibility to work overtime when required is also important.
