Manufacturing Technician Birmingham B15 1 / Shifts: Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 16:30 Contract Type: Full-Time Hourly Rate: £13.53 per hour 12 month contract.
Our client, a respected organisation within the Protein Diagnostics sector, is looking to appoint a Manufacturing Technician II to join their Operations team in Birmingham. This role offers the chance to play a key part in producing high‑quality diagnostic products that support scientific and medical innovation worldwide. You'll be joining a dedicated, collaborative manufacturing team where your contribution will directly support the delivery of reliable, industry‑leading solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine maintenance and operation of manufacturing equipment.
- Complete daily tasks assigned via the job list, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Work effectively within a regulated laboratory environment, maintaining strong GMP standards and meticulous documentation.
- Communicate clearly with the team leader and fellow technicians to support smooth daily operations.
- Work occasionally in walk‑in cold rooms and freezers (no prolonged exposure).
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong computer skills, particularly in Word and Excel.
- Effective time management, organisation, and planning abilities.
- Clear written and verbal communication.
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Positive, personable attitude with a reliable and well‑organised approach.
- Comfortable working as part of a team in a fast‑paced, regulated environment.
Preferred Skills
- Previous laboratory experience (academic or professional).
- Understanding of Health & Safety requirements, including COSHH.
- Familiarity with Quality System Requirements such as ISO 13485
- Experience in a cGMP environment or similar regulated setting.
Qualifications
- Degree in a relevant scientific discipline, or A Levels (or equivalent) in a suitable subject, or Professional laboratory or production experience in a related field.
