Team Leader - Food Production (Back Shift)
Location: Bolton, Greater Manchester
Shift: Monday to Friday, 14:00 - 22:00
Pay Rate:£13.97
Overtime Rate:£16.55
GI Group is recruiting for experienced Team Leaders on behalf of one of Bolton's leading food manufacturing companies. Due to continued expansion, there are immediate vacancies, with a strong opportunity to secure a permanent contract.
The Role
As a Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading a production team on the back shift, ensuring targets are met safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate a production team to achieve shift targets
- Ensure a safe working environment, taking action on any hazards or risks
- Maintain food safety, quality, hygiene and housekeeping standards at all times
- Monitor performance, minimise downtime, optimise changeovers and reduce waste
- Manage staffing, breaks and task allocation across the shift
- Support training, coaching and development of team members
- Assist with cost control through accurate reporting and efficient use of materials
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Team Leader/Supervisor in food production or similar fast-paced manufacturing
- Strong leadership and team coordination skills
- Confident in training, developing and engaging team members
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Able to work with minimal supervision and make sound decisions
- PC literate (MS Office essential; SAP desirable)
- Flexible and adaptable to meet production demands
