Health & Safety Co-ordinator, Bristol

Are you ready to take ownership of health, safety and compliance in a fast-moving operational environment? Our client has a brand-new opportunity for a capable and proactive Health & Safety Co-ordinator to support office and warehouse functions from their Bristol site and help embed a strong, consistent safety culture across the business.

This is a hands-on role with real impact. You’ll work closely with management and operational teams to coordinate day-to-day H&S activity, maintain structured and accurate records, and ensure the business meets its legal and regulatory obligations, without losing sight of commercial and operational realities.


The Role

You’ll support the site in meeting its Health & Safety, environmental and compliance requirements by:


  • Coordinating day-to-day H&S activities and site oversight
  • Maintaining clear, accurate and audit-ready documentation
  • Supporting training, inspections and compliance schedules
  • Promoting safe working practices across all departments

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and continuously improve Health & Safety policies and procedures
  • Attend and minute H&S meetings, tracking actions through to completion
  • Conduct spot checks and internal audits, reporting findings to site leadership
  • Support department heads with compliance, record keeping and system updates
  • Monitor accident, incident and near miss reporting, ensuring investigations and corrective actions are completed
  • Support COSHH and environmental compliance requirements
  • Coordinate and support external audits including ISO 9001, 14001, 27001 and 45001
  • Assist in maintaining business accreditations and standards
  • Promote a positive safety culture, including mental health and wellbeing awareness
  • Liaise with external bodies such as HSE, insurers and auditors where required
  • Monitor contractor compliance and ensure safe systems of work on site
  • Manage first aid provisions, PPE and safety equipment to ensure availability and compliance

What We’re Looking For

  • NEBOSH National General Certificate (or equivalent)
  • Experience supporting H&S within office and warehouse environments
  • Practical knowledge of risk assessments (manual handling, DSE, workplace)
  • Experience contributing to inspections, audits, investigations and action tracking
  • Familiarity with incident and near miss reporting systems
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 and 27001
  • Strong organisational skills with a structured, methodical approach
  • Detail-focused with the confidence to challenge and close compliance gaps
  • Comfortable balancing desk-based compliance work with active site presence
