Our client, a well‑established engineering business within the rail sector, is expanding and we’re supporting them in the search for a talented Production Engineer to join their growing team.

The Role:
As the Production Engineer, you’ll take ownership of planning, improving, and controlling production processes across both workshop and mobile engineering teams.
Your key responsibilities will include:
· Planning day‑to‑day workloads across various departments
· Allocating labour to maximise productivity
· Reducing downtime and eliminating workflow bottlenecks
· Driving continuous improvement and lean initiatives
· Providing technical support on coatings, repairs & surface preparation
· Ensuring work meets customer specifications and quality standards
· Supporting safety compliance, RAMS, COSHH & best working practices
· Managing equipment maintenance and identifying tooling upgrades
· Working closely with customers and project teams on technical requirements
Ideal Candidate:
We’re keen to speak with people who have:
· Experience in production/process engineering
· Knowledge of coatings, blasting, surface prep, or workshop operations
· A background in continuous improvement or lean methods
· Strong planning, communication, and problem‑solving skills
