Production Planner

We are looking for an experienced Production Planner to join our friendly team in our office in Andover, Hampshire. This is a full-time role (with half day Fridays!).

Job Purpose
To plan all non-project work orders & purchase orders for production and procurement.

Duties and key responsibilities
* Generate and analyse the appropriate reports to determine production capacity.
* Receive customer orders and enquiries from the Sales Department.
* Raise work orders & purchase orders to agree delivery dates in line with customer requirements and available production capacity in line with TOC.
* Return customer orders and enquiries to the Sales Department.
* Generate and distribute works orders on a weekly basis.
* Advise on make or buy decisions to minimise customer lead times, (eg - make in the UK or buy from BELOS-PLP).
* Place orders on "virtual workcentres" e.g. Belos and any subcomponents e.g., Collets & Weights.
* Develop the visual workcentres as we purchase planning modules.
* Provide cover for other members of the planning & procurement team.

Qualifications
* NVQ Level 3 / HND level qualifications desirable but not essential if time served as a production planner.

Experience
* Previous production planner experience in a manufacturing environment essential.
* Knowledge of Theory of Constraints (TOC) desirable.
* Knowledge/experience of importing desirable.

Knowledge & Skills
* The ability to follow procedures in an accurate and timely manner.
* Communication skills.
* Project management skills.
* Planning & co-ordination skills.
