Delivery Driver

Location: Crawley (RH10 3JY)

Hours: 08:30 to 18:00 Monday to Friday

Pay rate: £13.42 per hour.

Due to increased demand, DHL has an opportunity for you to join their team as a temporary delivery driver to assist with current business pressure. The opportunity to become a permanent employee at DHL will be offered to candidates successful in this role.

Delivery Driver Responsibilities:

· Complete daily safety checks, safe loading / securing load of vehicle, maintenance, legislative / regulations and adherence to company driving standards (including tachograph vehicles).
· Scanning and working quickly and efficiently to ensure warehouse deadlines are met.
· Ability to make good decisions and work under pressure
· Complete multiple deliveries and collections of shipments of a variety of shapes, sizes and weights - 65 to 75 drops per day
· Maintain a high level of attention to detail
· Ensure correct completion of DHL / Customer data and documentation
· Sort and prioritise workload (including multiple route sort) to ensure time commitments are met
· Ensure customer needs are met through time efficient deliveries and collections
· Have a professional interest for Safety and Security of yourself, colleagues, customers and the general public

Delivery Driver Requirements

· A full and valid UK Cat B Driving licence
· Strong geographical knowledge and route planning skills
· Excellent planning and organisational skills
· Have a strong work ethic, be flexible and happy to work hard on their own initiative.
· Experience of driving a 3.5t van is preferred but not essential.
· Have good people skills that are helpful and friendly
· Previous multi-drop experience is required
· You must be able to provide various documents for for identity checks and due to high security site, you must be able to provide 5 years work history with gaps of no more than 28 days
· Overtime available after 45 hours with an enhanced pay-rate
