Job Opportunity: Fabrications Team Leader
Location: Coventry
Hours: Full-Time
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per annum
A leading UK-based fabrication company, specialising in high-quality welded assemblies for the Aerospace and Defence sectors, is seeking a skilled and proactive Fabrications Team Leader. This is a hands-on leadership role in a fast-paced production environment, ideal for someone with a strong background in welding and fabrication.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Motivate and guide fabricators and welders to meet daily production goals.
- Training & Development: Mentor team members in welding techniques and safety standards.
- Production Oversight: Manage workflow, allocate labour, and resolve bottlenecks.
- Technical Expertise: Interpret engineering drawings and uphold welding quality standards.
- Compliance & Safety: Promote a safety-first culture and ensure adherence to H&S policies.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive efficiency through Lean Manufacturing and process enhancements.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Proven leadership experience in a fabrication or welding environment.
- Strong knowledge of MIG/TIG welding and fabrication techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to quality, safety, and compliance.
Desirable:
- Experience in Aerospace, Defence, or regulated sectors.
- Familiarity with CNC laser cutting and press brake operations.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, EN 15085, ISO 9001, and IATF 16949.
