Job Title: Sewing Machinist
Locations: Newcastle, Sunderland, Durham, Teesside
Job Type: Permanent £15.59 per hour. £30k depending on experience
Reports to: Production Supervisor

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled sewing machinists to operate industrial sewing machines to produce high-quality garments, upholstery, or other textile products according to specifications. The role requires attention to detail, manual dexterity, and the ability to meet production targets.

Key Responsibilities:
* Operate various types of industrial sewing machines
* Follow patterns, templates, or technical instructions to assemble products.
* Perform basic machine maintenance such as cleaning and threading.
* Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
* Handle different types of fabrics and materials efficiently.
* Meet daily/weekly production goals and deadlines.
* Collaborate with team members and supervisors to resolve production issues.
* Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
* Report machine faults or material issues promptly.

Skills and Experience:
* Proven experience as a sewing machinist or similar role.
* Ability to operate industrial sewing machines.
* Good understanding of sewing techniques and garment construction.
* Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
* Ability to work to production targets and under time constraints.
* Basic maintenance skills for sewing machines.
* Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
* Ability to read patterns or technical drawings (preferred but not always essential).
