Gi group are recruiting for Food Production Machine Operative working for a major Salad production company in Lichfield, Fradley Park

Hours of Work:
4 days in 4 days off
10:00 to 22:00 (11 hours pay, 1 hour break deducted)

Rates of Pay:
Before/during training:
- Day shift: Basic Pay £13 per hour, Overtime Pay paid at Time & 1/2 (£ 19.5 per hour)
Overtime Premium after 48 Hours
Fully trained and signed off:
- Day shift: Basic Pay £13.99 per hour, Overtime Pay paid at Time & 1/2 (£ 20.99 per hour)
Overtime Premium after 48 Hours


Your time at work
To be a technical specialist on plant and process in the area of the team. To set up and run machinery, plant and equipment ensuring all food safety and hygiene procedures are maintained. To perform fundamental asset care and remedial work on equipment. To train operatives and ensure quality. Ensuring that all duties within the defined area are performed to the highest accuracy and standard.
Liaise with the team leaders, and Senior technician to ensure all machinery is operating at its full capability. To participate in systemic and process improvement within a CI framework
Ensuring that all Health and Safety are always adhered to.
Report, equipment defects, machine faults, incidents and accidents to management immediately.
Demonstrate accuracy in all aspects of work to ensure quality of service.
Maintain good housekeeping.
Main Duties
1. Evaluate machinery performance.
2. Identify and rectify mechanical faults to machinery, and equipment where able and invoke escalation process.
3. Participate process improvements through CI (Continuous improvement) framework.
4. Assist to install new plant and equipment when required.
5. Implement and ensure adherence to SOPS (Standard Operative Procedure's).
6. Complete rudimentary PPM's (Preventative Plan Maintenance's) as instructed.
7. Management of inspections of equipment integrity daily.
8. Minor maintenance following fabric/safety inspections
9. Work with the team leaders / Senior technician on plant availability
10. Ensure operators are sufficiently trained for the current and future requirements of the department
