We are actively seeking an Dangerous Goods Airfreight Specialists who is passionate about delivering high-quality outcomes and is looking for a new opportunity to grow within our clients team. Our clients operations staff oversee shipments from door to door during import and export air freight procedures.
Monday to Friday - 8:00am to 17:00pm (with 1hr unpaid break)
£28,000 to £34,000 per annum
Based in Hounslow
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing Agents and Customers: Build strong relationships and manage interactions directly.
- Customer Liaison: Communicate effectively with customers regarding all aspects of their shipments.
- Finding Solutions: Use Air, Road, and Sea transport to navigate highly regulated shipments.
- Export Airline Bookings: Coordinate bookings with airlines.
- Tracking Shipments: Monitor shipments and provide timely updates to customers.
- Invoicing: Process customer invoices and creditor invoices promptly.
- Freight Collection and Delivery: Handle the logistics of freight movement.
- General Support: Assist with tasks such as packing, documentation, driving, and warehousing as required.
- Physical Handling: Lift and handle packages up to 30kg.
Requirements:
Experience:
* Airfreight Operations: 2 years (required).
* Dangerous Goods (DG): 1 year (preferred).
* Logistics experience: 2 years (required).
Certifications:
* IATA DG By Air Certificate (preferred).
* Driver's license (required).
Skills:
* Knowledge of Airfreight Operations with a Freight Forwarder.
* Computer literacy: MS Word, MS Excel, and Gmail.
* Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Additional Qualities We're Looking For:
- A confident driver with a valid license, capable of driving a van to airports for cargo pickups.
- Comfortable lifting and handling packages up to 32kg.
- A team player willing to assist in various warehouse tasks, including packing shipments, updating stock, and maintaining cleanliness.
- Flexibility to occasionally cover longer drives to Leeds, Nottingham, or Newcastle.
- Energetic and willing to go the extra mile, even stepping away from desk duties when necessary.
