5 days a week (alternating Saturdays)
7 am- 5 pm

Our client in Newbury is currently looking for a Machine Mechanic to join their growing team on a permanent basis. Here you will be working alongside other team members in a diverse role. Our client has been established for over 35 years and is the leading recycler and processor of electrical and electronic equipment waste in the UK.

Machine Mechanic role:
* Inspecting and fixing issues with the industrial shredders, granulators, compactors, conveyor belts and other equipment
* Organising replacements to be installed on the machinery
* Carrying out inspections on plant machinery
* Conducting routine maintenance work on the vehicles from lorries to forklifts
* Preventative maintenance
* Welding activities
* Handling unplanned problems and coming up with solutions
* Ensuring the functionality of the safety systems
* Fitting new parts

Machine Mechanic Skills and Attributes required:
* Previous experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance
* Previous experience working with mobile plant including forklifts and lorries
* Previous experience in maintaining or repairing industrial machinery such as shredders or granulators
* Welding skills
* Communication skills
* Attention to detail
* Heavy lifting up to 20 kg

It would be advantageous to have:
* Background in the maintenance of lorries (HGV) or any vehicle maintenance
* Basic knowledge of electrical systems
