Manufacturing Engineer / Yeovil / £29.10 per hour PAYE


As a Manufacturing Engineer specialising in Aerospace, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless production of aircraft components and systems. Based at our client, a leading Aerospace and Defence organisation in Yeovil, you will be responsible for a range of critical tasks aimed at enhancing efficiency, accuracy, and quality throughout the manufacturing process.
The role:

  • The Manufacturing Engineer will create detailed Manufacturing Bills of Material (BOM) and Technical Support Documentation (TSD).
  • Develop and maintain Work Instructions to support production schedules.
  • Lead process design changes and integrate them into assembly processes.
  • Identify and implement improvements to enhance build process efficiency.
  • Amend work instructions promptly to rectify errors and maintain operations.
  • Act as a liaison with suppliers and provide support on manufacturing issues.
  • Provide data for impact analysis on change introduction and ease of manufacture assessments.
  • Assist in team development and personal growth initiatives.
  • Provide production time estimates for capacity planning and cost estimating.
  • Plan, review, and report on progress and status of work.


Ideal person:

  • Mechanical Engineering background with relevant qualifications.
  • Proficiency in creating work instructions and engineering data.
  • Extensive aerospace manufacturing experience.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with SAP or similar production management systems preferred.

Monday to Friday 37 hours per week
This is a temporary contract unitl August 2025 with the potential to extend
