Are you an experienced Payroll Manager ready to take on a leadership role within a global Fortune 500 manufacturing company? This is a unique opportunity to oversee payroll operations for a large employee population, lead a team through transformation, and ensure full compliance with German tax and employment legislation.
The Role: As a Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for payroll operations covering more than 1,600 employees, driving accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. Leading a payroll team, you will set high standards, build accountability, and foster professional development. This role offers strong exposure to international stakeholders and the chance to shape a function that is critical to business success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, develop, and motivate the payroll team, with a focus on turning around performance.
- Oversee timely and accurate payroll for 1,600+ employees.
- Ensure full compliance with German tax law, social security, and statutory reporting requirements.
- Partner with HR and Finance to streamline processes and deliver continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead payroll-related projects, including system enhancements and implementations.
- Act as subject matter expert for German payroll compliance and legislation.
About You
- At least 5 years' payroll management experience, with proven leadership and team transformation skills.
- Fluent in German and English (spoken and written).
- Strong knowledge of German payroll, tax, and social security legislation.
- Experience managing large-scale payrolls.
- Skilled in SAP and ADP payroll systems.
- IHK qualification or similar certification is highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
