Hours: Days, Monday - Friday
An established engineering organisation is seeking a Mechanical Assembler to support the strip‑down, refurbishment and rebuild of electromechanical assemblies. This is a hands‑on, physically active role requiring precision, adaptability and a strong commitment to safety and quality.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for stripping, cleaning, rebuilding, and assembling electromechanical units in line with detailed technical specifications and work instructions. The role involves working across multiple areas of the facility and handling a varied workload.
Key Responsibilities
Mechanical Assembly & Rebuild
- Strip down and rebuild electromechanical assemblies to defined procedures
- Clean and prepare components for re‑use or reassembly
- Assemble mechanical components to tight tolerances and specifications
- Verify completed work using precision measurement equipment
Tools & Equipment
- Competent use of hand tools (spanners, pliers, torque tools)
- Operation of power tools such as cordless drills and electric screwdrivers
- Use of pneumatic and/or hydraulic tools where required
Essential Skills & Experience
Technical (Hard) Skills
- Ability to read and follow engineering drawings, schematics, and written instructions
- Competence with measurement tools including callipers, micrometres, torque wrenches, and gauges
- Understanding of torque settings, tolerances, and fastener specifications
Health, Safety & Physical Requirements
- Strict adherence to PPE requirements and workplace safety standards
- Good manual dexterity and hand‑eye coordination
- Ability to stand for extended periods (8‑hour shifts)
- Capability to safely lift and move components up to 50 lbs / 23 kg
