Our client a leading food manufacturer based in Menstrie is looking to recruit a Quality Control Technician.
You will be working to your own remit as well as part of the site Quality Control Team
Position is initially for 6 months, however could be extended.
Hours are across 7 days on a rotational basis working for 37.5 hours per week.
Shift patterns are - 6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm and 8am-4pm
Pay is £28.01 per hour
The key responsibilities of this role are:
* Working in a team structure within a rotating pattern (including weekends)
* Accurate and timely execution of analytical testing to defined methods (raw material, in
process and end product)
* Effective communication of results to production and quality personnel
* Accurate and timely reporting of results in the appropriate electronic system
* Organoleptic assessment of end products
* Laboratory equipment calibration as per schedule
* Hygiene audits as per schedule
Essential Requirements
* Minimum HND level (in chemistry or related discipline)
* Minimum 2 years experience in analytical laboratory role with experience in:
o Chromatography (ideally HPLC & GC)
o Spectrophotometry (UV VIS)
o Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy
o Wet Chemistry methods including colour change titrations.
o Maintenance and calibration of all laboratory equipment to ensure effective operation.
* Proficient in IT systems in particular word/excel/powerpoint.
* Flexibility

* Experience of working in a food testing environment
