We're looking for an experienced construction multi trade Operative with strong flooring skills (carpet, vinyl floor preparation and fit). You'll deliver high‑quality installations and repairs across residential sites, liaise with clients, and ensure safety and compliance.

Title: Multi‑Trade Operative- Flooring Specialist

Reports to: Site/Operations Manager

Purpose: Deliver end‑to‑end flooring installations and maintenance across domestic contracts, ensuring on‑time, on‑budget delivery, high quality finishes.

Key responsibilities:

  • Execute installations: carpets, vinyl/LVT, safety flooring and associated trims/thresholds to specification and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Repairs & maintenance: patch repairs, refits, transitions, adhesive failures, and floor covering replacements with minimal disruption to clients.
  • Job management: measure, plan materials, coordinate with trade teams,
  • Quality & compliance: perform final inspections, resolve defects, log rework, and maintain documentation.
  • Client liaison: manage on‑site expectations, communicate timelines and variations,

Essential criteria:

  • Good demonstrable hands‑on flooring experience across multiple systems (carpet, vinyl/LVT, wet rooms).
  • Able to carry out small scale repair work where required i.e. plinths, skirts, plaster patching, general making good after floors are completed where required
  • Competent in adhesive selection/application, underlay fitting, welding (for vinyl) and trimming/thresholds.
  • Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK.
