Join Our Team as a Yard Operative

Position: Yard Operative
Company: Gi Group

Location: Newcastle
Pay Rate: £12.21 per hour

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:30pm


Key Responsibilities:
* Store and park all vehicles on site between the yard and the auction halls.
* Barcode all new vehicles on arrival and tag keys
* Electronically Log and remove any valuable items left in vehicle
* Be responsible for jump starting vehicles when needed, on-site training provided
* Line and lot vehicles for auction, ensuring they are neat, tidy and presentable for auction
* Take care and responsibility of all cars in your care. Maintain a safe driving standard and adhere to speed limits at all times.
* Ensure that the Company's health and safety standards and practices are adhered to in the yard & halls
* Politely refer any issues, queries or complaints to the relevant manager
* Undertake any other tasks in the yard department to ensure that operational requirements are met


Technical Skills:
* Able to follow instructions and work to tight deadlines
* Action & customer focus
* Quality of work/attention to detail
* Be comfortable driving automatic and manual vehicles
* Confident to drive light commercial vehicles
* Able to work alone and as part of a team
* Willingness to help other departments when needed
* Customer focussed
* Computer literate


Knowledge and Experience:
Essential:
* Valid full UK drivers license
Preferable:
* Experience of working in an auction or vehicle sales environment
* First aid qualification
