Yard Operative Opportunities - Nottingham

GI Group are recruiting yard operatives to support the operation and movement of vehicles in and around our client’s very busy auction site. If you enjoy driving an array of different commercial vehicles and want to be part of a fast-paced operation, this could be the role for you. Vehicles include manual, automatic and electric models. 

Shift Details: 

·        Shifts available Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm

·        Pay rate: £12.21 per hour

What we're looking for: 

·        Full UK manual driving licence, held for at least 1 year

·        Aged 21 years of age and over due to insurance requirements

·        Clean driving licence record with no more than 6 penalty points (subject to endorsement codes) 

·        Experience with manual and automatic vehicles is desirable, but not essential 

Role Accountabilities:

·        Store and park all vehicles on site between the yard and the auction halls ensuring they are neat, tidy and presentable for auction [this may require some valeting work]

·        Barcode all new vehicles on arrival, tag keys and electronically log and remove any valuable items

·        Be responsible for jump starting vehicles when needed, on-site training provided

·        Ensure that the Company’s health and safety standards and practices are adhered so that accidents to vehicles and people are prevented. This always includes safe driving speed limit adherence on site

Technical skills:

·        Able to follow instructions, work to tight deadlines on your own & as part of a team

·        Be comfortable driving light commercial vehicles, both automatic and manual

·        Computer literate, customer friendly and helpful at all times
