Technical Manager - Power & Electrical Systems
Salary: £65,000 - £70,000 (DOE)
Car Allowance: Up To £6,000 per annum
Location: Nottinghamshire
Hours: 37.5 hours | 4.5‑day working week (Friday afternoons off!)
The Opportunity
An established and growing specialist in the power and electrical systems industry is looking for an experienced Technical Manager to join their team.
This is a senior, hands‑on role where you'll play a key part in delivering complex power quality projects, supporting service teams, and shaping future product offerings in a growing technical division.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading and managing a wide variety of projects
- Acting as a key technical contact for customers and internal teams
- Producing quotations for complex technical enquiries
- Interpreting client specifications and industry standards (G5/5, EN50160)
- Reviewing electrical loading data and energy usage to recommend solutions
- Writing detailed monitoring, power quality and harmonic reports
- Providing technical support to site engineers and service teams
- Managing suppliers, ordering equipment and monitoring delivery
- Ensuring health & safety compliance, including RAMS and contractor reviews
- Supporting product development and identifying new markets and suppliers
- Attending site surveys and technical assessments when required
What We're Looking For
- Strong background in LV electrical systems, power quality or harmonic filtering
- Proven experience in a technical or engineering management role
- Confident interpreting electrical data, specifications and standards
- Excellent stakeholder and customer communication skills
- Methodical, organised and commercially aware
- Comfortable working across office, site and customer environments
