Customer Order Management Supervisor

Pay Rate: £18.97 per hour
Contract: 12 months (potential to be extended)
Hybrid: 2 days work from home per week
Shifts: Monday to Friday
We are currently looking for a Customer Order Management Specialist/Supervisor to work with our client based in Peterborough. In this position, you will oversee the end-to-end order life cycle for key customer accounts. You will act as the first point of contact for customer queries, ensuring timely fulfilment, exceptional customer service and seamless communication. You will also provide leadership and support to the Customer Order Management team to drive operational excellence.
Customer Order Management Supervisor Responsibilities:
· Lead and support a small team (4 people) within the Customer Order Management team to deliver outstanding service.
· Liaise with all CGT departments from Engineering , Product Planning, Purchasing and Production to ensure specifications are correct, analysing plant availability, closest specification available and possible alternate offerings.
· Technical experience and knowledge of product to interpret complex customer specifications and options.
· Oversee the full order life cycle for key customer accounts, including order entry, modifications, invoicing, credits/debits, and logistics documentation
· Act as the central contact for customer queries, providing accurate information on lead times, availability, technical details, and policies. Manage and resolve escalations, ensuring timely and effective closure
· Foster a customer‑centric culture, demonstrating empathy, professionalism, and service excellence
· Drive departmental initiatives, continuous improvement projects and develop and maintain standard processes for communication, order accuracy, and workflow efficiency
Customer Order Management Supervisor Requirements:
· Proven experience in customer order management or a similar role.
· Strong technical aptitude with the ability to interpret specifications and coordinate with cross‑functional teams
· Strong leadership capability with experience guiding teams through complex workflows
· Excellent communication skills and a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences
· Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
· Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to identify and implement process enhancements
