Car Compound Driver – Portbury Dock (BS20)

Pay: £12.21 per hour (weekly pay)

Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:30am–5:00pm

Contract: Temporary to Permanent

Start Date: Immediate

Gi Group are currently recruiting Car Compound Drivers to join a leading automotive logistics company based at Portbury Dock, near Bristol. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who enjoy working outdoors, have a passion for vehicles, and want long‑term career potential.

Role Overview

As a Car Compound Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of vehicles around the site. You will work as part of a busy operations team, ensuring all vehicles are handled to the highest professional and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely drive, move, and park vehicles within the compound and across designated areas on site
• Complete basic pre‑ and post‑movement vehicle checks
• Park vehicles accurately, following site guidelines and layout
• Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Maintain high levels of safety awareness and professionalism

Requirements

• Full UK manual driving licence (Category B) with no more than 6 points
• Confident driving various vehicle types (manual, automatic, hybrid, electric)
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
• Strong attention to detail and awareness of site safety
• Previous experience in vehicle handling, compound driving, or automotive logistics is desirable but not essential
