Maintenance Team Leader – Rotating Day & Night Shift
Location: Redditch
Salary: £55,000 – £60,000 (including shift allowance)
Shift Pattern: Panama Days & Nights (12‑hour shifts)
A leading tier‑one automotive manufacturer is seeking a Maintenance Team Leader to support its expanding maintenance function. As the business continues to invest in new machinery and scale up its engineering capabilities, this role will play a vital part in ensuring site reliability and optimal production performance.
Role Overview:
As the Maintenance Team Leader, you will manage and support a team of multi‑skilled maintenance engineers across a rotating day and night shift pattern. This hands‑on leadership role requires strong technical expertise, excellent coordination skills, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement across both mechanical and electrical disciplines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach, and coordinate a team of maintenance engineers across mechanical and electrical functions.
- Ensure completion of planned preventative maintenance to minimise downtime and maximise equipment efficiency.
- Provide advanced fault‑finding support and technical guidance during breakdowns.
- Assist with installation, commissioning, and integration of new machinery and equipment.
- Drive best‑practice maintenance standards, promoting safety, quality, and continuous improvement across all shifts.
Candidate Profile:
- Proven background in maintenance leadership within a high‑volume manufacturing environment.
- Strong technical expertise across mechanical and electrical systems.
- Good working knowledge of PLCs (Siemens experience advantageous).
- Confident leader with the ability to motivate teams across both day and night shifts.
- Proactive, solutions‑focused, and committed to developing people and processes.
