GI Group UK is recruiting for a QC Technician on behalf of our client in Warrington. This is an onsite, 12-month contract. The role includes hands-on QC testing, routine lab duties and support tasks. PCR experience is desirable but not essential — training can be provided.
QC Technician working hours:
- 37.5 per week
- Mon–Thu 07:15–16:00
- Fri 07:15–11:45
- Overtime available

QC Technician key responsibilities:
- Perform quality control testing of intermediate and finished goods following SOPs.
- Review batch QC documentation for bulk, intermediate and finished goods tests.
- Carry out instrument calibrations and maintain calibration schedules; train others once competent.
- Contribute to process improvements, development projects and resolution of quality issues.
- Support laboratory housekeeping: 1 hour cleaning on Monday and 1 hour on Thursday (team rota).
- Maintain and restock laboratory consumables required for manufacturing.
- Train colleagues to the appropriate level and keep training records up to date.
QC Technician minimum requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant life sciences discipline OR equivalent practical experience.
- Knowledge of PCR is desirable but not essential (training available).
- Strong attention to detail, good record-keeping, ability to follow SOPs and work as part of a team.
