Senior Quality Control Technician / Warrington WA1, Salary £14.01 per hr / Full time 12 month contract.
We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a leading organisation in the scientific and diagnostics sector, who are seeking a Senior Quality Control Technician to join their established QC team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong laboratory experience to step into a key technical role with real impact on production quality and delivery.
About the Role
As a Senior Quality Control Technician, you will take ownership of laboratory housekeeping processes while supporting the team through high‑quality QC testing, instrument calibration, and continuous improvement activities.
You'll ensure testing is carried out in line with strict regulatory standards, directly influencing product integrity, availability, and the organisation's ability to meet production schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out QC testing on intermediate and finished goods following established procedures
- Maintain high housekeeping standards, including cleaning activities and managing laboratory consumable supplies
- Review QC documentation for bulk, intermediate, and finished‑goods testing
- Perform routine instrument calibrations and take ownership of calibration scheduling
- Train colleagues on cleaning procedures, calibration routines, and relevant QC tasks
- Support or lead process improvements, quality investigations, and development projects
- Ensure all activities align with ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and ISO 18385 DNA forensic quality standards
Skills & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant life science discipline or equivalent industry experience
- Experience working within a quality‑controlled laboratory environment
- Knowledge of PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) is desirable but not essential
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to follow procedures accurately
- Confident communicator with the ability to train others
- Highly organised, proactive, and comfortable working to deadlines
